The Basic Brooklyn Beanie

Inspired by the multitude of slightly-slouchy, stiff black beanie hats that appear to be part of the Brooklyn uniform.

You will need:
Size 11 16" circulars
Size 11 dpns
1 skein Lion Brand Thick & Quick

CO 52 st and join to knit in the round
Knit 2" of k2, p2 ribbing
Continue in stockinette st, knitting every round until hat is approx. 6.5" long

Begin crown decreases and switch to dpns when necessary. Purl every even row. 
1- *k5, k2tog* repeat to end between stars
3- *k4, k2tog* 
5- *k3, k2tog*
7- *k2, k2tog*
9- *k2tog*

Thread remaining stitches onto a tapestry needle and pull tight to close up the hole. Weave in ends and enjoy!
